Sunday, 6:30 am in Uzhgorod. Still having troubles adjusting to the time change, but doing well on a few hours of sleep a night. There’s so much to see and experience that’s keeping me busy. After a really great meeting and with a local school, we moved out of the hotel and in with our host families two nights ago, and I must say it’s a welcome change from the hotel. The family I’m staying with is great, accommodating, and hospitable. They live in a beautiful flat in a historic downtown building. Alisa, our coordinator for our stay with Skala-Uzhgorod RC speaks English very well. Yesterday we were treated to a picnic at an outdoor rest area just outside of the city. Yesterday was quite hot so our hosts took us to an old quarry that was changed into a local swimming hole/resort with restaurant service and other amenities. Our evening was spent relaxing in a local café over coffees and handmade chocolate, then off to another café specializing in Hookah. It started raining early this morning, so I’m sure today’s plans for will change. I will be off to see a local gym with Dima, my host family’s son, shortly.
